Starting at $0.012 per word

You’re almost ready to hit Publish, but you just need someone to look over your work one last time. Proofreading corrects errors that have occurred after typesetting in its final form.

Proofreading catches surface-level errors:

Copyediting

Before the proofreading stage, you need someone to go through your work with a style guide to check consistency. Copyediting is more focused on the style of the project. If you don’t have a style guide, I will create one during editing. This stage includes basic proofreading; however, this should not be the final proofreading of your project.

Copyediting revises or flags the following:

  • Minimal Word revision

  • Light fact-checking

This stage comes before the copyediting and proofreading stages. This stage focuses on the content and will scrutinize your work line-by-line to improve the flow and style. This will not look at technical errors.

Line editing revises or flags the following:

  • Minimal rewriting
  • Paragraph & Sentence Structure
  • Heavy Fact-checking
  • readability
  • flagging of substantive changes
  • Telling vs. showing
  • Repetitive wording
  • Smooth Transitions
  • Passive vs. Active voice

  • Other artistic errors
