About

Welcome to Nestenius Editorial!

My name is Sandrine Nestenius.

I’m a former auditor and accountant who now works with companies to edit their financial documents and corporate communications. My journey here started at a Big 4 accounting firm in New York City as an auditor, where I slowly realized something surprising: I had more fun editing the financial documents I was reviewing than I did evaluating numbers in Excel. It took me a few years to make the shift, but now I’m fully focused on financial editing.

Since I began my editing business, I have been sharpening my skills through the Editorial Freelancers Association, proofreading and copyediting courses with Edit Republic, and a year-long certificate program in editing from UC Berkeley Extension. I am also CELTA-certified to teach English. My best experience, though, comes from my time auditing financial institutions in NYC. It taught me how to navigate SEC filings, spot inconsistencies, and ensure compliance—all while working under tight deadlines.

I graduated from the University of Texas at Dallas with a degree in Accounting and worked as both an auditor and an accountant in NYC. I have also worked as an accountant in Madrid for the Spanish branch of an American company. Those experiences have shaped how I approach editing. I bring attention to detail, financial expertise, and a passion for clear, professional communication to every project.
